End of life products

This article we will provide you more information about the End of life products on the eMAG Marketplace platform. Another way of deactivating some of your listed products, is setting the End of life status. Using this option you will be able to hide even from your list, those products you do not want to sell anymore or you will not be able to resupply in the near future.
When you decide to withdraw one or more products you have been selling on the eMAG Marketplace all you have to do is follow these steps:

From the Dashboard, go to the Products menu and select the Products categories section. Choose your products’ category and go to the File Types column next to it.

Here, click on the Generate products update file and download it into your computer. In this file, keep only those products you want to deactivate and complete the value of status with 2 for each of the selected products.

After filling in the file, you need to upload it on the eMAG Marketplace platform, by pressing the green .XLS upload button from the Import Excel. If you change your mind and decide to reactivate some of the offer from the End of life list you have to go back into the Products menu and select the Product categories section. Find the wanted category of products you want to update and click on the Generate update offer EOL button. Download it and change the status`s value from 2 to 1 and upload it as you did with all .XLS files.

 

Benefits of End of Life status: 

Changing the status of the products that you do not sell anymore, into the End of life, will help you organize your product list better, by keeping your deactivated products separated from the active ones when:

  • You generate .XLS files for uploading a large volume of products in campaigns or for updating documentation. The End of lifeproduct will be not displayed in any export products areas. This is a major benefit when creating .XLS files for adding or uploading products, the file generating time will be shorter. A smaller volume of information will help you find products faster when updating or uploading them in campaigns.
  • You can generate accurate reports for your existing products in site. Due to EOL status, you can generate accurate reports of your activity as an eMAG seller. This will help you have a better overview about your products` volume evolution and see how many products you have for sale, at the moment.
  • You can easily check the visitors` interest only for your active products in the My offers
  • End-of-life products are not taken into account forProduct Health. Setting the products into the End of life status, your product health level won`t be affected by them, anymore.
  • Changing the status ofEnd of life will help you keep track of active products on the platform that need improvement when the Product Health indicator is not within optimal parameters.

And for a better user experience in terms of easier navigation through products, the platform will automatically mark as EOL all offers which were unavailable in the site (inactive or without stock) for more than 90 days and with no input from you.
