What will you learn from this tutorial:
EOL (End of Life) File
With the help of this file, you can:
- Deactivate those products that you no longer want to sell on the eMAG Marketplace platform temporarily or you want to permanently exclude them from your portfolio.
- Reactivate the products that you previously deactivated from your offer.
Products with End of Life status become inactive in the platform and are removed from the list of your offers in the sections intended for product management.
Thus, the EOL file stores separately the products that you no longer sell, and you can consult it at any time, for a possible reactivation of the products.
When to use the EOL file
- When you want to reactivate previously deactivated products
- When you need to check which products you have deactivated
- When you want to optimize your portfolio, choosing from the list of inactive products those that could bring you sales, if you reactivate them.
How to download the EOL file
- Go to the Products → Product Categories → Offer Management section:
- If you want to download all EOL offers:
– Click EOL – Generate file to update EOL offers
- If you want to see offers with EOL status only for a specific category:
– Identify the category of interest
– Click View available files next to the category
– Click on EOL – the End of Life file will be automatically generated
How to fill in the EOL file
- Open the downloaded file
- Check all deactivated products
- Keep in the file only the products that you want to reactivate
- Columns A-G – contain information about products that are automatically completed and that you do not need to modify
- Column H – Offer Status – is the column that you must complete with the value corresponding to the status that you want to set for the selected products. The values you can set here are:
2 = End of Life Offer
1 = Offer will be active and visible on the site
0 = Offer will remain inactive (but not EOL)
How to upload the completed EOL file
- Save the completed file to your computer
- Access the Import .XLS menu
- Click on the .XLS upload button
- Select and upload the completed file
- If you have completed the file correctly → validation takes place automatically and the products will change their status according to your settings.
How to deactivate a product manually
In order to deactivate some of your published products, you need to:
- Go to the My offers menu and select one of its sections
- Once you access one of these sections, select the products you want to deactivate or use the filter zone to easily identify them.
- Make sure you check every product you want do deactivate then press the Remove from sale button located just above the product list.
- This way, the selected deactivated products become invisible for the customers on the eMAG website.
- You can still see these products in the Unavailable tab, where you can only see the products with the Inactive status.
If you change your mind about one of the deactivated products, all you have to do is to search the specific product into the Unavailable list and press the green Put up for sale button.
