In this tutorial you will find more information about the package definition feature that allows you to manage your default package dimensions to optimize shipping costs and improve delivery efficiency.
This simplified interface allows you to edit standard package dimensions directly from your account. For your convenience, you can use the standard package sizes or customize each size.
How does Package Definition work?
This feature allows you to define up to 5 standard package dimensions that you use in order processing. Soon, when you issue AWBs, you’ll be able to select one of these pre-configured packages.
Standard Package Sizes Available
- XS: 20×15×10 cm, 1kg.
- S: 30×20×10 cm, 3kg.
- M: 35×25×15 cm, 5kg (Currently set as default).
- L: 45×35×20 cm, 10kg.
- XL: 80×50×25 cm, 15kg.
How to customize standard package sizes?
- Go to Logistics menu – Courier Accounts or access My account – Profile menu from the Dashboard. The Package Definition section is available in the Courier Accounts tab.
- Customize your preferred package sizes.
- Click the Save button corresponding to the package definition section to apply the changes.
⚠️Important
- For now, you will be only able to configure your packages and set your preferred one. It’s good preparation for the future, as we intend to introduce new fields in the AWB issuing modal, regarding volumetric data, soon.
- The functionality launches on desktop interface initially; API and mobile will follow.
Business Benefits
- For courier companies: They’ll know the exact volumetry of your packages upfront, enabling more accurate pricing and efficient handling
- For you: Better transportation cost predictability and faster AWB processing.
⚠️Keep in mind
The M size is currently set as your default package, but you can set another preferred package according to your needs. When package selection will be available in AWB issuing process, the default size will automatically be selected in one of these situations:
- Missing product data: When individual product dimensions aren’t available in your catalog.
- Complex orders: When orders contain multiple different products that need to be combined.
- Multiple quantities: When you’re shipping several units of the same product together.
- Multi-package shipments: When your order requires more than one package or envelope.
