What is API?

API is a technical solution through which you can synchronize your online sales platform with the eMAG Marketplace platform, for listing and managing offers, but also for order processing.

 

The import of products through API

Using the API import, you can benefit from a series of options such as:

  • Rapid publication of products on the eMAG Marketplace;
  • Quick updating of product data (stocks, documentation, prices, etc.);
  • You can integrate products through API for Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary;
  • It allows you to synchronize categories, VAT, stock and other options;
  • Using API synchronization, you can send offers and products on eMAG Marketplace;
  • You can schedule daily updates of your products, stocks, statuses, and offers;
  • Allows the import of orders from the eMAG Marketplace directly into your store;
  • You can easy manage orders received;
  • View and update predefined statuses on the eMAG Marketplace;
  • You have the same order payment methods as on eMAG Marketplace;
  • You have additional fields available for delivery methods.

 

To import your products through API, you must follow the steps below:

  • Download the API documentation received from us and make sure to download its updated version each time a new version is released. 
  • Depending on the platform of your online store, choose a connector to integrating it with eMAG Marketplace. You can also do API integration through in-house development, and use the connector you developed, if you already have one.
  • Make sure you are using the correct API URL, user data, and password sent by our support colleagues.
  • Use the same product ID both on the eMAG Marketplace and on your website to make integration easier and to avoid errors or duplicate products.
  • Regarding sending products via API, we advise you to make more simultaneous calls with fewer products, than a call with too many products that could have errors.
  • Because there is no process in which you can test this solution in advance, we recommend that you start API integration with the first five products to make sure you follow the correct steps and your products are validated.
  • It is ideal for your product ID to be in your database, when you upload products manually or via XLS, so future API integration will be easy to do.
  • As with other product uploads, the import of products via API is subject to the validation process. Each new product submitted must have complete and correct documentation. The documentation team will verify the documentation, and they will comply with eMAG standards, your products will be published on the site.
What is a Feed?

 Feed is an alternative way to publish your offers on the eMAG Marketplace.

The import through Feeds allows you to:

  • Quickly publish a large volume of products on the eMAG Marketplace platform;
  • You can easy update product information (stocks, documentation, prices, etc.);
  • You can integrate products through Feed for Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary;
  • Allows you to schedule daily updates of your products, stocks, statuses, and offerings.

Using Feed Import, you can manage your products on the site by updating a single file from your own system in the eMAG Marketplace platform. The role of feed import is to publish and update your site products daily with minimal effort.

 

The Feed import

To add a new feed, go to the Products – Feeds section. On the Feed List page, you will find the green Add feed button. Click this button and you will enter the Feed Details page to complete the 4 steps of feed import:

  • General settings – Set the new feed data by filling in the six required fields, marked with an orange star.

⚠️ Attention: The Feed URL size must not exceed 100 Mb and contain a maximum of 100,000 products in a maximum of 150 categories.

  • Feed fields mapping – Contains the fields in the eMAG Marketplace that will be associated with the fields in your file and is used to synchronize and save the data in your file with the information in the platform.
  • Categories mapping – Contains all categories in the XMl / CSV file. Your product categories must be associated with those in the eMAG Marketplace.
  • Schedules – Set how the feed runs.
